Technical Deep Dive

How NFC Pocket Works

NFC Pocket utilizes your Android device's built-in NFC controller to establish electromagnetic communication with passive RFID tags operating at 13.56 MHz. The app interfaces directly with the NFC hardware through Android's NFC API, enabling bidirectional data exchange with ISO 14443 Type A and Type B compliant tags.

The reading process captures tag UID, technology type, and stored NDEF records within milliseconds. For write operations, NFC Pocket converts your input data into NDEF message format, validates tag memory capacity, and executes sector-by-sector writing with authentication when required by tag security protocols.

Advanced cloning functionality performs byte-level memory dumps of source tags, stores the complete data structure including manufacturer blocks, and replicates this information onto compatible blank tags. The app supports MIFARE Classic 1K/4K authentication using dictionary attacks and custom key management for protected sectors.

Core Capabilities

Universal Tag Reading

Instantly scan and decode MIFARE Classic, MIFARE Ultralight, NTAG, DESFire, and ISO 15693 tags. Extract complete tag information including UID, technology type, memory size, and all stored NDEF records with detailed hexadecimal data view for technical analysis.

Advanced Tag Writing

Write custom data to writable NFC tags with support for text, URLs, contact cards, WiFi credentials, and Bluetooth pairing information. Automatic NDEF formatting ensures compatibility across all NFC-enabled devices while preserving tag security settings.

Professional Cloning Tools

Perform complete tag duplication with byte-level memory replication. Clone access cards, loyalty cards, and identification tags onto compatible blank NFC stickers. Includes MIFARE Classic key cracking with built-in dictionary containing 1000+ common keys.

Tag History Database

Automatically save every scanned tag with timestamp, location data, and full memory dump. Organize tags into custom collections, add notes and labels, and export scan history as CSV or JSON for external analysis and backup purposes.

Automation Triggers

Program NFC tags to launch apps, toggle system settings, send messages, or execute custom Tasker tasks. Create location-based tag actions that trigger different behaviors depending on your current GPS coordinates or time of day.

Security Analysis Mode

Assess tag security configuration with detailed reports on write protection status, authentication requirements, and vulnerability detection. Identify weak or default keys on MIFARE Classic tags and receive recommendations for improving tag security.

System Architecture

Supported Tag Technologies

  • MIFARE Classic 1K and 4K with full sector authentication and key management for access control applications
